Yes you heard it right. Salman Khan will now produce the rags-to-riches story based on the life of Somen Banerjee an Indian-American entrepreneur and co-founder of Chippendales. This film will trace the journey of Somen Banerjee, the owner of the nightclub hotspot Chippendales. The popular nightspot best known for its male striptease performances and dancers who created a storm in the US in the 70s and 80s.
Salman confirmed the news himself. He said, “A Bengali man, who moved from India to America in the late 60s, struggled and created one of America’s most iconic brands. We are going to tell the story of Somen Banerjee, a man driven by fierce ambition, on celluloid.”
The biopic, which starts in Kolkata, moves into glitzy Los Angeles and Europe. Coming from a humble background his father was a printer Somen’s aspiration for a better life took him to America. The makers are currently working on the script and the movie will be produced as a feature film and also a mini-series.
Salman Khan is currently shooting for Tubelight AND he will begin shooting for Bigg Boss 10. The actor further has three film offers ready – Tiger Zinda Hai, Race 3 and Dabbang 3.
