A young Malayalam film producer Ajay Krishnan committed suicide on April 24 at his residence in Thirumullavaram, Kollam (Kerala) on Saturday after watching the preview his debut film as a producer, Avarude Ravukal, was everything for him as he had invested over Rs 4 crores for the film.
According to a report in The New Indian Express, Krishnan committed suicide after watching a preview of the upcoming film. Quoting an unnamed police source, the report said, “He was concerned over the success of the film at the box office. He had also shared his concern with his parents. It seems that the film cost him Rs 4 crore and he was facing financial crisis. This might have forced him to take the extreme step.”
According to reports, Ajay Krishnan’s parents, Radhakrishnan Pillai and Jayakumari, were at home at the time of the incident but unfortunately, couldn’t save him. A post-mortem was conducted at the District hospital after which final rites took place.
