Director-producer, Madhur Bhandarkar was impressed with Tota’s performance in Ahalya and this helped him calling Bengali martial artist Tota Roy Chowdhury, has cast in a lead role for his upcoming film ‘Indu Sarkar’, a movie set in the backdrop a 21-month long emergency period from 1975 to 197, when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi unilaterally had a state of emergency declared across the country.
Tota says ”it is great honor to work with a director of Madhur’s caliber.” This is not the first time that Roy Chowdhury is working in a Bollywood film. In A.R. Murugadoss’ Katthi, he played a cameo against Tamil star Vijay. “Released on October 22 last year, Katthi had the highest opening in all the four South languages.
Tota has worked with eminent directors like Rituporno Ghosh, Sujoy Ghosh, Koushik Ganguly, Sandip Ray and Prabhat Roy. Now the name of Bollywood director Bhandarkar is going to be added in the list.
The ‘Ahalya’ actor has significant character in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Kahani 2’ is an upcoming 2016 Indian Suspense thriller film features Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. It is not a sequel of the 2012 film Kahaani which is scheduled for release on 2 December 2016.
