Abir Chatterjee, one of the most handsome and talented actors of Bangla cinema is the only one who essayed two iconic sleuths of Bengali literature, he appeared in Bengali movies as Byomkesh Bakshi and Feluda, but for some reasons he has to lose the franchise of Feluda when Sandip Ray decided to cancel the reboot and obvious that Sabyasachi Chakrabarty back in his next as Feluda and Shaheb Bhattacharya will return as Topshe, is heading for the Christmas release in December, 2016.
Abir, who is currently shooting for Anirban Sil’s next Byomkesh flick after Har Har Byomkesh (HHB), , based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s Amriter Mrityu, expressed his feelings saying, “I am disheartened and sad. Feluda is much more than just a profitable franchise. It’s a mixed feeling working in me.”
Though Sabyasachi Chakrabarty is 60 years old, in the new Feluda film. Feluda will be 50 years old and Topshe will be 30. “Losing Feluda has nothing to do with any politics. As an actor, I want to play both Byomkesh and Feluda but the audience might get confused. People might not be comfortable with the same actor playing two iconic characters. It was a technical issue that worked behind the loss,” added Chatterjee, the egendary actor also showed his preference towards Abir as the new gen Feluda.
