Don’t be surprised if you bump into posters of detective duo Byomkesh And Feluda movies this Friday. While Arindam Sil is all set to release the ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ on this (16th December) Christmas, and director Sandip Ray has also decided to re-release his ‘Double Feluda’ on the same date.
‘Double Feluda’ is a tribute to Bengal’s favorite sleuth on his 50th anniversary. Based on ‘Samaddarer Chabi’ and ‘Golokdham Rohosya’, and along with it there will be an exhibition on Feluda as well. Arindam Sil’s much-waited ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ is going to be the screen adaptation of Sharadindu Bondyopadhyay’s ‘Amriter Mrityu’
Byomkesh Porbo, will be played by Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar and Ritwick Chakraborty reprising their roles as the sleuth, Satyabati and Ajit respectively and others. Be prepared for another gripping thriller from Arindam Sil, “Byomkesh and Ajit are on a state mission to find out the criminals who are exporting weapons from Dooars; it’s a throwback to the post World War II era.
Double Feluda, based on the Bengali sleuth Feluda, created by the acclaimed and renowned Oscar- winning director Satyajit Ray. Directed by the latter’s son Sandip Ray, the film marks the comeback of both Sabyasachi Chakraborty will be playing Feluda and Topse will be played by Shaheb Bhattacharya, is a film adaptation of ‘Samaddarer Chabi’ and ‘Golokdham Rohosya’.
‘Double Feluda’ also cast include Saswata Chatterjee, Bratya Basu, Subhrajit Dutta and others.The film is reportedly said to be released on Christmas, 2016 to mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic creation. Now unless a miraculous intervention happens, Tollywood is going to see the biggest war of theatres.
