A hero police officer saved a woman and her baby’s lives when he managed to catch them both in the nick of time as they fell towards train tracks. The incident occurred at the Kalyan station in Mumbai on Saturday, at 11.56am.
The 51-year-old Sub-Inspector BS Narwar from the Kalyan Railway Protection Force who noticed Mrs Tripathi was in danger and rushed over to help.
He told Midday.com: “I was standing nearby, watching passengers board the train. “After the horn blew, I noticed the woman running to board the train.
“She first put her luggage in just as the train started then [tried to] hand her son to a passenger at the doorway. Seeing the signs of danger, I started to run after the woman to try and help her.
“The train picked up speed and she missed the first door [so she trued to board from the second door]. But she missed again and began to slip under the train.
“I was right next to her, so I pulled her up before her legs could get trapped under the coach.” via
