When He pours salt and something really surprising comes out—OMG!

How to catch a Razor Fish or Razor Clam. This is on the helford river in cornwall where we eventually found loads of razor clams. The hole in the sand was tiny and hard to spot. We sprinkled salt on it and the razor clam popped out, first sacrificing it’s syphon, and then pushing it’s shell out so we could hold onto it until it released it’s foot. That was the smallest of the lot, the others were quite a lot bigger.

You can eat the entire foot bit that hangs out and most of the insides. Steam until shell opens and then chop and put in paella or simply eat with some onion, garlic & white wine. YUM! SOOO exciting to catch too! 🙂
