Original Begum Jaan, Rituparna Sengupta, will be flying off to Australia on August 11 to be part of two film festivals at Sydney and Melbourne.
The national award winning actress for “Dahan’ is busy attending two film festivals at Sydney and Melbourne where her Bengali movie “Rajkahini ” has been invited. A source close to Rituparna says, “Rituparna is very happy about her movie being called for the festival.”
“Rajkahini will be screened as the inaugural film in the Sydney Indian Film Festival and at the Melbourne Indian Film Festival and Ritu is a Best Actress nominee,” film director Srijit told CT. And said that he is very happy and impressed with Rituparna’s performance in the movie.
“She’s up against with Sonam Kapoor (Neerja), Deepika Padukone (Bajirao Mastani) and Radhika Apte (Parched). She will also be part of a panel discussion on women empowerment.”
The director said, It is my most successful film in terms of both box office collection, is a Bengali drama film released on 16 October 2015. The film has an ensemble cast containing eleven major female characters.
