Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and creative producer Shoojit Sircar visited the city with Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi for a press interaction, Where pink directorAniruddha said I was planned to make the film in Bengali, but it was Shoojit’s idea to do it in Hindi, as the story s itself a burning topic. For scripting, the eam did extensive research work, which ncludes observing more than 13 cases of domestic abuse from different courts in he country .
“In all these cases, innocent women were victimised. That was one of he reasons why we got so involved with he film,“ said the director.
The courtroom drama Pink , written by Ritesh Shah, and produced byRashmi Sharma and Shoojit Sircar. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Angad Bedi, Andrea Tariang, Piyush Mishra, and Dhritiman Chatterjee, which was released on 16 September 2016.
The germ of the idea came to Anirudha a few years ago after he came across a girl, who was harassed by her neighbours for attending late-night parties. “That conversation with the girl made me think how society is labelling a woman as bad just for attending parties,“ added Aniruddha.
