Director Arindam Bhattacharya’s upcoming film, Antarleen, is a murder mystery that also explores myriad shades of the human mind trapped inside a cocoon of untold sensibilities. The film is set in the backdrop of Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, and also happens to be the first Bengali film to be shot at this beautiful hill station. It has Mamata Shankar in a pivotal role, apart from Kharaj Mukherjee and Sampurna Lahiri.
The story unfolds as a travelogue where several travellers, from different walks of life, reach Kasauli and stay at the same hotel. They all socialise with each other on the evening of their arrival and indulge in a long adda session over good food and bonfire. They are also joined by a strange person who is a retired army colonel. As the night progresses, the news of a lady being murdered gruesomely at the hotel breaks in, leaving everyone shocked. Mysteries like the reason behind the murder, how everyone gets involved in it and the outcome of the investigation form the crux of the plot.
